Sample Schedule (First 2 Weeks)
Nursery Preparation & Seed Sowing
Prepare raised nursery beds with fine tilth. Mix top soil, sand, and compost 2:1:1. Sow onion seed thinly in rows 8 cm apart. Cover with thin compost layer. Varieties: Red Pinoy F1, Bombay Red, or Red Creole.
Nursery Irrigation & Weed Control
Water twice daily using watering can with rose head. Hand-weed any weeds that emerge. Germination in 7–10 days.
Nursery Management
Thin overcrowded seedlings to 2 cm spacing. Apply dilute NPK foliar at 1 g/litre. Protect from slugs with wood ash around bed edges.
